The Disney Adventure did not start life as a Disney ship. She was begun in Germany as Global Dream for Genting Hong Kong's Dream Cruises. When Genting collapsed in 2022, Disney bought the unfinished ship and rebuilt the interiors from the steel outward. That origin explains almost every way she differs from her fleetmates.
It is why she is roughly 45% larger than the Disney Wish, and why there was room for things no other Disney ship could fit — a roller coaster, and a three-deck storybook castle in Disney Imagination Garden, the first castle ever built into a cruise ship. It is also why her staterooms are more compact than on Disney's purpose-built ships.
She was christened by godparent Robert Downey Jr. on 4 March 2026 and sailed her maiden voyage on 10 March. On her delivery voyage to Singapore she became the largest passenger ship ever to transit the Panama Canal. She is the first Disney cruise ship based in Asia — the reason families in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and India can reach a Disney cruise without a long-haul flight.

Two sailing lengths, every week of the year, both round trips from Marina Bay Cruise Centre. Fares start from $958 (3-night) and $1,318 (4-night) for two guests, all-in.
Until now, every Disney Adventure sailing has gone out to sea and back. From 31 December 2026, selected 4-night sailings spend Day 3 at Langkawi, a 99-island archipelago off Malaysia's west coast and Southeast Asia's first UNESCO Global Geopark. Going ashore is optional; you can also stay on board.
The themed areas are the organising idea of the whole ship. On most large cruise ships the decks blur into one long corridor; here each area has its own lighting, music and crowd, much like the "lands" of a Disney park.
The open-air heart of the ship, built around a three-deck storybook castle. The Garden Stage hosts Avengers Assemble! and Duffy and The Friend Ship, and two of the best included food counters — Mowgli's Eatery and Gramma Tala's Kitchen — are here.
All three rides, the Infinity Pool and the Infinity Bar. Loud, busy and the first place teenagers head. Queues are shortest right at opening and during evening shows.
Lanterns, neon and the Big Hero Arcade, plus Baymax Cinemas and the tween and teen clubs behind shopfronts. Widely called the best-themed area in the Disney fleet — walk it at night and you will agree.
The princess area, with Guest Services, the Walt Disney Theatre (Decks 5–7), Spellbound and Marvel Style Studio. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one deck up. Busiest just before dinner.
The water zone: Woody & Jessie's Wild Slides, the Sunnyside Pool and splash pads for small children, with Pizza Planet and free soft-serve next door. With under-sevens, this is where daylight hours go.
An underwater-themed promenade with Stitch's 'Ohana Grill, Cosmic Kebabs and bubble tea. It changes completely after dark, and it is the easiest place to find a seat mid-afternoon.
The quiet escape: a Moana-themed pool terrace at the back of the ship, home to Moana: Call of the Sea. Not adults-only, but the calmest open deck outside show times.
No other Disney ship has rides like these. All three are included in your fare, with no paid fast pass.
Disney's first roller coaster and the longest at sea, with 820 feet of track above the top deck on an Iron Man-style motorcycle. It did not run on the maiden voyage but has been reliable since, with occasional closures for weather or maintenance. A fun family coaster rather than a thrill machine. Minimum height 120 cm.
An Ant-Man-themed racer on an oversized toy track that plays well with the 8–14 age group. Shorter queues than IronCycle for most of the day, which makes it a good first stop on embarkation afternoon.
The gentlest of the three and the one that works for younger children. Quick loading, rarely a long wait, and worth a ride even if you think you have aged out of it.
This is the area where the Disney Adventure most clearly outclasses anything else sailing from Singapore.
Remember is an original musical built for this ship, with WALL-E and EVE as puppets alongside characters from Coco, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. It is the one guests bring up unprompted afterwards. Disney Seas the Adventure, also staged on the Wish, fills the other theatre night. Outdoors, Avengers Assemble! is a stunt show that uses the deck architecture properly, and Moana: Call of the Sea plays at Wayfinder Bay.
Then there is The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky — fireworks over the open ocean, narrated by Shah Rukh Khan. The upper decks give an excellent free view; the paid Dazzle and Delights dessert party (US$49 per guest) adds reserved viewing, but we would only book it for a celebration.
Character meets have changed format since launch — booked sessions, distanced "Selfies at Sea" and walk-up meets — and still vary by sailing. Character dining at Navigator's Club and Hollywood Spotlight Club is the reliable way to see Mickey and friends.
The common mistake is assuming the best-known places to eat cost extra. Most of them do not.
Dinner moves between themed restaurants, and the same serving team moves with you. The six restaurants form three sister pairs, and you dine in one from each pair: Navigator's Club or Hollywood Spotlight Club (live music and Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy), Animator's Palate or Animator's Table (the room turns to colour and your drawings come to life), and Enchanted Summer, with its Tangled and Frozen rooms, or Pixar Market. Because you visit three of the six, many guests see the other three on a return trip.
Mowgli's Eatery, Gramma Tala's Kitchen, Stitch's 'Ohana Grill, Cosmic Kebabs, Pizza Planet and Wheezy's Freezies cost nothing extra, alongside the breakfast and lunch buffets. Mowgli's serves genuine Indian food with plenty of vegetarian choices, which matters a lot to families flying in from India. Singapore favourites such as Hainanese chicken rice and laksa lemak are on the dinner menus. You can eat very well without spending anything beyond your fare.
Palo Trattoria is adults-only Italian. Mike & Sulley's Flavors of Asia is really four experiences in one — a Japanese steakhouse, teppanyaki, an omakase counter and a sushi bar — and, unlike the paid restaurants on Disney's other ships, it welcomes children. Bubble tea at Bewitching Boba & Brews, the Bacha Coffee and TWG Tea boutiques, the cafés and all bars also charge. Since June 2026, most room service carries a US$5 fee plus an automatic 18% gratuity; the door-hanger breakfast and Concierge orders are exempt.

Every cabin tier gets identical access to dining, shows, kids' clubs and all three rides. What you are buying with a higher tier is space, daylight and privacy — and in Concierge, a lounge and priority.

Staterooms on the Disney Adventure are well laid out — split bathrooms in most categories, real storage, privacy curtains — but noticeably more compact than on the Disney Wish, because the hull was designed for a different operator. In the first weeks, many guests found the sofa beds used for extra guests had a thin pad rather than a proper mattress, so ask your stateroom host about bedding on day one. Because you will spend little waking time in the cabin, an Inside stateroom is a perfectly good choice for most families; if you want a queen bed, look for "Deluxe" in the name. The one upgrade we would pay for is a sea-facing Verandah — on a ship that mostly stays at sea, it is your only private outdoor space. Our cabin guide for families goes category by category.
Every guest needs a valid passport, whatever their nationality — even a sea-only sailing is an international voyage. On Langkawi sailings, also check Malaysia's entry rules.
Port arrival times in the Navigator app are assigned in check-in order. Checking in the day it opens is the cheapest upgrade available — more time on board on day one.
Taxi or Grab to Marina Bay Cruise Centre costs roughly SGD 25–35. The nearest MRT is Marina South Pier on the North–South Line, about a 10-minute walk.
Same-day arrival works until a delayed flight costs you the whole sailing. One night near Marina Bay is the best stress-per-dollar spend of the trip.
Dinner is at 5:45 PM or 8:15 PM. The early seating is far easier with young children. Request halal or Jain meals at least 35 days before sailing.
Oceaneer Club (3–10), Edge (11–14), Vibe (14–17). Included, staffed by trained counsellors, and the single biggest reason parents rate this ship highly.
Unlike Disney's other ships, there is no adults-only pool deck. Couples gravitate to the spa's Rainforest Room, Palo Trattoria and Wayfinder Bay instead.
Gratuities are US$16 per guest per night, and most room service costs US$5 plus 18%. Each guest aged 18+ may carry on one bottle of wine or six beers.

Most sailings stay at sea — the ship is the destination. From 31 December 2026, 27 selected 4-night sailings call at Langkawi, Malaysia on Day 3, with guests ashore from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. The number 14 sounds like "certain death" in Mandarin and Cantonese, so it is often left out in Asia. The ship's decks run from 1 to 13 and then 15 to 20.
No. Like every Disney ship, the Disney Adventure has no casino. Evenings are for shows, the fireworks, themed bars and lounges, karaoke and trivia at D Lounge, and a speakeasy that opens at night in Marvel Style Studio.
Infants must be at least 6 months old on the day of embarkation. At least one guest in each stateroom must be an adult. The drinking age on sailings from Singapore is 18.
Yes. There are about 60 accessible staterooms across the Inside, Oceanview, Verandah and Concierge categories, with features such as wider doorways, roll-in showers and grab bars. Lifts serve every guest deck and all public restrooms have accessible facilities. Accessible rooms are limited, so use the accessible-rooms filter on Disney's deck plan and book early.
Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board agreed to base the ship at Marina Bay Cruise Centre for at least five years, so she is expected to sail from Singapore until at least the early 2030s.
