There is a proper Indian counter on board, Jain meals are served on this ship only, and Shah Rukh Khan narrates the fireworks. Why the Disney Adventure Suits Indian Families
Indian interest was clear even before launch: in a YouGov survey reported in December 2024, 63% of Indian respondents said they were interested in booking, against 43% in Singapore and 39% in Indonesia. Having sailed the ship, we can see why it works:
- Short trip, no jet lag. Singapore is only 2½ hours ahead of India. A 3- or 4-night cruise plus a day in Singapore fits inside a week of school holidays.
- Food is not a worry. Mowgli's Eatery serves Indian food all day, the buffet and dinner menus carry dishes like dal tadka and paneer jalfrezi, and every menu has vegetarian options.
- Three generations, one holiday. Kids' clubs for ages 3–17, calm spaces for grandparents, and connecting rooms or Concierge family rooms keep everyone together without being on top of each other.

- Children add to the fare. A mid-season quote for 2 adults and 2 children in a 4-night Inside room came to US$2,172 (₹2,08,500).
- Dates matter. School holidays, Christmas and Chinese New Year can cost 30–50% more than a quiet week; the highest fare we have recorded is US$7,798 for a peak Concierge suite.
- Gratuities are extra: US$16 per guest per night, charged on board.
- Included: your room, all meals at the restaurants, buffet and counters, soft drinks at meals, shows, fireworks, pools, rides and kids' clubs.
- Not included: flights, visas, alcohol, speciality coffee and bubble tea, Palo Trattoria, spa, Wi-Fi and makeovers.

Paying from India: TCS, Forex and Instalments
How you pay can change your final bill by several thousand rupees.
- TCS on packages bought in India. From 1 April 2026, Indian sellers must collect a flat 2% TCS on overseas tour packages, whatever the amount. It is not a cost you lose: it shows in your Form 26AS and is adjusted when you file your income tax return. It does tie up cash until then.
- Paying Disney directly by credit card. The Finance Ministry has said overseas credit card spending does not attract TCS under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme. You will, however, pay your card's forex markup — usually 3.5% plus 18% GST, or about 4.1%. A few Indian cards charge zero markup, which can save around ₹8,000 on a family booking.
- Deposit and part-payments. Disney takes a deposit when you book and sets a final payment date, usually about 90 days before a short sailing; your booking shows the exact date. You can pay any amount towards the balance before then. Disney has no formal monthly EMI plan, but some Indian agents offer EMIs on their packages.
- On board. Everything is charged to your room in US dollars. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB and UnionPay are accepted; RuPay is not.

- Thomas Cook India and SOTC — named as Disney Cruise Line's travel distributors for its first consumer event in India (Mumbai, 2025). Both sell packages with flights, a Singapore hotel stay and visa support.

Before paying any agent, ask: What is my Disney reservation number? Which exact room category is it? Are gratuities and TCS shown separately? What are the cancellation rules, in days before sailing? And is the visa a multiple-journey one? A package can be worth it for the convenience; just compare the cruise part with Disney's own price.

- Summer vacation is the most popular window for Indian families — and Singapore's own school holidays run from late May through June, so the ship is full and fares peak. - Diwali is also Deepavali, a public holiday in Singapore (Monday 9 November in 2026), so expect local families on board that weekend too.
- Best value: September, October and early November outside the festival weekends, and January after New Year.
- Weather: Singapore is hot all year; December to February brings heavy monsoon showers, which rarely stop the fun on a ship with covered spaces.
Singapore Visa for Indian Families (Step by Step)
Indian passport holders need a visa for Singapore, and it cannot be obtained on arrival. The process is simple and quick:
- Apply through an authorised visa agent. The Singapore High Commission in New Delhi publishes the list of authorised agents, including large travel companies.
- Documents: a signed Form 14A, a recent colour photo, and a passport valid for at least 6 months — Disney asks for 6 months beyond the end of your cruise. Agents may also ask for your tickets, cruise booking, a cover letter or bank statements.
- Fees: ₹2,100 visa fee plus up to ₹1,300 agent service charge — about ₹3,400 per person, children included.
- Timing: processing usually takes 3–5 working days. The High Commission advises applying within 30 days of arrival; in the March–May peak, apply 2–4 weeks ahead.
- Ask for a multiple-journey visa. You enter Singapore when you land, leave it when the ship sails, and enter again when it returns. Disney warns that some nationalities need a multiple-entry visa for this. Tell your agent it is for a cruise; ICA decides the visa type and validity.
- Submit the SG Arrival Card free on the ICA website within 3 days before you land — and again before the ship returns, as Disney will remind you.
Langkawi sailings — check Malaysia's rules. Indians can currently visit Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days, but that facility is announced only until 31 December 2026, and every Langkawi call falls after that date. Schedules change by season, so check before you book. From Delhi and Mumbai, KAYAK shows typical economy return fares of about ₹22,000–₹37,000 per person, with September the cheapest month.
- Arrive the day before. Many flights from India are overnight and land early in the morning, which gives you a full day in Singapore and a buffer if the flight is late. Disney will not wait for delayed guests.
- Fly home in the afternoon. The ship returns at about 7:00 AM, but disembarking and reaching Changi takes time; avoid flights before late morning.
- Getting to the ship: Marina Bay Cruise Centre is 20–30 minutes from Changi by taxi or Grab (about S$25–45). The nearest MRT, Marina South Pier, is a 5-minute walk.
Indian, Jain, Vegetarian and Halal Food on Board
This is the question every Indian family asks first, and the Disney Adventure answers it better than any other Disney ship.
Mowgli's Eatery: the Indian counter
A Jungle Book-themed counter on Deck 10 serving, in Disney's words, "regional and vegetarian dishes featuring the rich flavors of India". Reported dishes include butter chicken, tandoori chicken, Kerala fish curry, chana masala, veg jalfrezi, aloo gobi and tandoori vegetable momos, with naan, paratha, pulao, raita and pappadum. It is included in the fare, and you can go back as often as you like.
Indian dishes elsewhere
- Pixar Market buffet: dal tadka, navratan korma, jeera pulao, achari mutton, chapati and gajar halwa have all appeared.
- Dinner in the themed restaurants: butter chicken, Chettinad vegetable kurma, paneer jalfrezi, baingan bharta and chicken tikka masala have featured on the rotating menus.
- Room service: dal makhani with paratha and rasam have been on the menu.

Jain, vegetarian and halal
- Jain: Jain meals are offered only on the Disney Adventure. Request them at least 35 days before sailing.
- Vegetarian: every restaurant has vegetarian dishes; tell your servers on the first night and they follow you through the rotation.
- Halal: meals with halal-certified meats are available at the table-service restaurants and can be ordered at the meal.
- How to request: use the Special Requests form in My Reservations or the Navigator app; for allergies, the Special Services form at least 3 days before sailing. At self-service counters, requests are not applied automatically, so ask the staff.
For Children and Grandparents
Children
- Kids' clubs: Oceaneer Club (3–10), Edge (11–14) and Vibe (14–17) are included. The "it's a small world" nursery for 6 months to 3 years is paid, reported at about US$10 an hour.
- Babies: the minimum age is 6 months. Cribs are free on request, subject to availability.

Grandparents

- Pace: the theatre shows, Wayfinder Bay and the dining rooms are easy on the legs, and lifts serve every deck.
- Health: the Health Center is on Deck 9, with a doctor on call around the clock. Treatment is charged to your room and Indian insurance is not accepted on board, so carry travel insurance and enough regular medicines for the whole trip.
Rooms for four: standard rooms have two bench beds plus two pull-down beds; "Deluxe" rooms have a queen bed and a double sofa bed with a curtain divider. For a first-time family, a Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah is the room we recommend most.

- Passports valid 6 months after the cruise ends, and a multiple-journey Singapore visa for everyone.
- Online check-in in the Disney Navigator app (opens 30 days before for first-time guests); choose your port arrival time.
- Jain, vegetarian or halal requests submitted at least 35 days before sailing.
